Gary's Story

Life Hello: Left Libby straight out of High school in Aug. My mom I step dad were getting a divorce. My sis & I got drug into the middle of it. Done that before. So off to Ca to get a decent paying job. Learned a trade and found out I don't fit well in the big city. I worked for an International co with offices everywhere. They wanted me to move to Seattle. I checked it out, like from the pan into the fire. So I moved to Oregon 21 years ago. Bought an old fixer upper. Then my wife at the time changed her mind and insisted on starting a family. About three and a half years into that she decided to go "find herself". I became a single father of three in diapers. The usual divorce from hell. She finally moved on. I met my current wonderful wife of 12 years. She has done a wonderful job of raising the children. Anyone that knows me now claims she is a Saint. (something about putting up with me) I'm sure i don't know what they are talking about. My oldest daughter is ...Expand for more
in college studying to be an Engineer. She received enough scholarships to pay for more than half of her education. Number two daughter just moved out this year is in job corp studying to be a dental hygenist. My son is 16 with aspirations to be a fighter pilot. My #3 daughter is 14 and thinks she will live at home until she's 29! Haa. Just in case anyone is wondering; I blocked out her face for privacy. Not for any other reason. With the way the internet is, it's just safer this way. I visited libby about 15 years ago or so when my stepfather died suddenly i was the closest family member at the time I was out of town on business. It seemed that time had stood still then. I am surprised how many of the class of '77 are nearby heck even one of the Ra Ra's (cheerleaders) is a radio station personality right here in Portland. Like a lot of people, I signed up on this out of curiosity. It must be the age thing. Don't have much else for now. best regards, garrick
