Gayle's Story
As we travel down this road called "life" nothing stays the same. My journey has been good and very interesting. Eric and I had many business adventures and did well with all of them. Only one child. A girl named Rachel who plans to be married July l9th of this year. Eric died Sept l0,200l. I had a brain tumor just before that. Every thing turned out well. Left with a little dizziness which limits my highway driving. I have been similar to a gypsy in trying to settle down. I sold all my earthly belongings to make a nice neat package. It was my time to sort through material items as well as a lot of other things in my life to discard. After several moves I now live alone in an apartment in Riverview near my daughter. I don't work but seem to find things to fill my time. Charles is in London, Ont. and Dorothy is in Toronto. We communicate often. Alfred died several years ago. Since our school reunion and anniversary I have kept in touch with many of our school friends. It is wonderful where our journey takes us and the person it makes us become. Through my life I have become more accepting and less judgmental of others. The school of "hard knocks" teaches us a lot. I am sometimes lonely for my past life and all the people I have lost but we can't go back. We still have them in pictures and memory.

ugust 2009 The story above is a year old and staying true to my past I have moved again. This time I have really come home. My sister and I bought our old family home in Riverside Albert last Sept. She is still living in Toronto. I love it here and hope this is my last move. I have found a real sense of happiness. The house has had many changes since I arrived and every day I look at all the beauty around me and appreciate it so much. There is still more I want to do in the house but I love it here.
May 2011, Since I last wrote on my page many new things have happened. I am still in Riverside Albert and quite content here. As time passes I feel even more at home. I realize two generations have been added that I don't know who they are. That only mean one thing..... I am getting older and older. Another indication is the deaths or illness of people my age. So heart breaking when Mel Tingley died. On a brighter side I became a grandmother - OH BOY- what a great experience. A little boy to Rachel and Stephen Cail. His name is Kurt Eric Eldon. Named after his late grampie Eric on the Steeves side and Eldon on his grandmother Cail's side. The most beautiful baby in the world and certainly one of the most loved. A special gift from God. Stephen and Rachel say one is enough in this day and age. We will wait and see.
