Gene's Story
I retired from my corporate job in 1995. Colleen and I formed a business and have been marketing her art work since '95, but we retired from doing art festivals this year. Colleen continues to paint for Lang Calendars. I play some golf, work out daily (bicycling when the weather is decent) otherwise go to a workout facility. I do some volunteering delivering Meals on Wheels and am a Teammate Mentor. This is a program that was started by Tom & Nancy Osborne and mentors meet with their mentees once a week at school. been doing that for 9 or 10 years. Another activity I'm involved with is being president of the 600 member Husker Home Run Club. This is the booster club for the University of Nebraska baseball program. I have a board of 15 (9 men and 6 women) people and of course we all have baseball as a common interest, so I really enjoy that although it's time consuming. Our three sons along with six grand children all live in Kansas City. Colleen and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary next August. We are enjoying life!!
