Gene's Story
I am looking forward to hearing from some of my old classmates as I quickly approach 50 years on this third rock from the sun. I left Alton in 1977 for Houston,only to return to Alton in 1979, then Detroit and then Little Rock on my way back to Texas in 1983. Have been in Houston until 1997 when I moved to Arlington and then to south Texas and now live in the beautiful Hill Country southwest of Austin at Canyon Lake. One of the prettiest places you will ever see. Most of my life I have been in the wireless communications business, cellular phones, GPS tracking systems and related services type work. I am currently working in the marine repair business at a marina just three miles from my home and spend every day on the docks, if not actually testing a boat or jetski, trying to make it break. I am divorced, with one son who is four years old named Garrett(yes I started late). I am currently working on my private pilots license and am also a certified rescue diver working towards a Coast Guard captains license so I can retire on the coast somewhere,(probably not as soon as I woul...Expand for more

I am not necessarily using Classmates as a personal ad but since I do live in one of the neatest places in Texas, if not the country, I am hoping to rekindle some old friendships and am always open to finding that special someone to share my nirvana with. They say networking is the key to success these days, so if you have never been to Texas or have been and want to return, please feel free to contact me and I will show you around our great state. Update: Well, here it is almost five years later and quickly approaching 55. I am so pleased with the people who have contacted me over the years and stayed in touch, particularly my childhood friend and idol, Motocross Great Doug Norman and My old Alton roommate Jeff Gray also dropped in to say hello. Y,all have a great new year and stop by and say high sometime.
