George's Story

Life Me, Married, divorced, married, divorced blah blah blah. Have been gloriously single for twelve years! Then I went and got married to a mid-west girl. Whoo Hooo! Friends have come and gone, some have passed away. But life goes on, right? Moved from South Bay to Hollywierd with a live-in girl friend for a few years and worked for a couple of big companies GUESS JEANS (mmm jeans) DIRECTV (mmm TV). During my off time I shot "behind the scenes" documentaries for various films and directed many plays (one included Marion Ross from Happy Days (oops, I dropped a name) won some awards (even got a standing ovation, twice). Moved to New York and worked for a big hotel company as a Director of Project Management. Just like George and Weezi, lived on the Upper Eastside and had a deluxe apartment in the sky. Witnessed 9/11 first hand and almost seven years later, I still can't talk about it with out getting emotional. Directed a few Off-Broadway plays. During a festival of 100 plays, my show won the award for Best Ensemble Cast and I was nominated Best Director. Between shows in NYC I'd fly back to LA and shoot those "behind the scenes" for DVD releases. After a couple of years enjoying life in NYC, I moved back to LA and shot red-carpet interviews for E!, Entertainment Tonight, and others, directed, acted and just goofed for a while. Some of my photos (yup, do that too) were published in a magazine with a world wide circulation. Moved to Oklahoma City to work for a family owned McDonald's chain of restaurants (Director ...Expand for more
of Project Management) and low and behold found a girl who is just as crazy and morally corrupt as I am, I'm trying this marriage thing again. What am I nuts!? I suppose we have to as we're the proud parents (owners) of two McD's restaurants with three and four not far behind. Since I'll be in OKC a while, I'm looking for theater space in the arts district of OKC so I can direct more shows. When the urge urges, I continue to travel the globe shooting and directing as required by my laws of nature. NYC and LA are only a four hour jet ride away. The feature length documentary I produced with my former live-in, TORN FROM THE FLAG, premiered at AFI FEST in November 2007. Jeff "The Dude" Dowd is our film rep (those names keep dropping)(watch The Big Lebowski). We've been accepted to other film festivals as well and a big Hollywood studio is interested in distributing the film. Check out IMDB, search TORN FROM THE FLAG Photos I took on set were published in the Spring issue of MovieMaker magazine. And there may be an article I wrote published in Cinematographer Magazine in Spring of 08. I'm about to publish my second graphic novel. Buy a book or contact me for an autographed copy. I've come to embrace that the only constant thing in life is change. For better or worse, my life will change again and I wouldn't trade places with anyone!
