George's Story
Life
I remember being the first 1st grade class in Roberto Clemente PS 13 Elementary school after the city closed PS 182. Living on Miller ave between Livonia and Riverdale (which my Dad still does Moms past away two years ago...no regrets on my part) I more remember IS 292 JHS the most because of the things I got into from the AV squad wich was run by both Mr's Klein and Melnick, the choir or glee club (I forgot the teacher)or even better the Hockey team and shows Mr Melnick had back in the day which had started my fire for audio and video work. I remember the day we did the Latin pride program (represent CUBA) and we acted( before MTV Music Videos came to be) to Barry Manilow's "Copacabana" and ended with the Commodores "Celebrate". The lead guy was Rodney Arroyo. I remember my 1st girlfriend and my last girlfriend at the 292.Lisa was the 1st I think Lizzete I am sure was the last. I recall hanging out at USA roller rink in Queens as well as the 42nd street arcade, Reiis beach (back when it was a nude beach)jumping the turnstiles just for fun. The thing that set me up for a downfall in high school was at the end of Jr High learning how to smoke weed, then how to sell it and so on. Thank GOD for being delivered from that life. From Eli Whitney I remember the food fights I started in the Eli's lunchroom. I was the guy who used to bang beats on the tables as up and coming rappers did their thing. I went to the TV repair/Digital Electronics class with Mr. Resse. I never really attended many of his ...Expand for more
classes which resulted in my release from High School and getting my GED and still going to college. I remember going to the Run DMC concert at the Beacon Theater with my good friend Danny Matias and having front row seats and of course gun shots rang out in the crowd. I remember the faces of two girls I saw at the concert which where seniors at Eli at the time and from then on I had their respect. Ask me their names and I can't tell you for sure. I have a Audio engineering and live sound back ground as well as Video editing. My wife Linda (Linda Seabron the class of `88 when it was still call Eli Whitney)and I live on Staten Island. We have been together almost 20 years married 18 of them with one daughter. I currently work in the Technical Operations department for a International Cable Company and Linda works for the Manhattan District Attorneys office, since High School. I mentor young men at my church and also run the Media department. If you ever hear about Hope Christian Center in East NY I can be found there in Worship. My biggest and only regret in life was not graduating from Eli. My best memory was giving out roses from my garden to the girls every week and one of them I got married to. If you have read all this and think you know me give send me an email.
Names I may have forgotten over the years but faces I have not. Drop me a photo and let me see if we know each other. The "now" picture of myself is about 3 months old. Just putting it out there. :) LOL
Grace and Peace to you all.
