George's Story

After high school I joined the military, stayed in for twenty one years, saw the world and retired. I severed in the 5th and 10th SF, 56 SOW (in Asia), 7th SOS (Europe) before being transferred to the 2nd Unit of 6th Navy SEAL team then transferred to work directly for the Joint Chiefs of Staff in counter terrorist activities. While in service I earned a BS in Education. I was in education for a long time and went on to earn my MT and Ph.D. after which I work at the college level. After twenty year of that I retired again and am at the present time running three business and work as the Executive Director of the Laurens County Humane Society. So much for retired life. I have kayaks that I have taken all over to paddle out the rivers starting in Fl where I lived for many years and then all the river in GA where I presently live and to WY where I paddled out the Platte River to Iowa. ly you might remember Diane McEwan that I dated and married. We were married for eighteen and a half years before she was killed in a car accident. We had two children one girl and one boy (Jr). My daughter lives in NH and is a school teacher there and has double Master degrees. She has two children. My son is a professor at UCLA and has earned two Ph.D.s and presently lives in Israel digging up the past. I have remarried to another lady named Demetria (Dee) and she also was in the education field until she retired. She has her Masters of Education and is working on her Ph.D. in education. I don't think I will ever finish paying off all the degrees. We have been married for tweny six years and unless something serious happens we will remain that way. I have had horses, presently have eight house dogs and two cat (one my son asked me to watch when he left to get a master degree some fourteen years ago). I continuely foster animals, they obey like children but don't eat as much. As I look back at all that has happened since high school I could sum it all up as "a little boring with moments of joy". What a great time we had.
