George's Story
Life
I graduated from the University of Southern Colorado in 1989 and moved to the Chicago area in 1991.
I love to travel! Aside from recent trips to Spain and Peru (Machu Picchu), I am always looking for new and exciting adventures around the U.S. I love photography and you'll often see me with my camera totally focused (pardon the pun) on a landscape or a close-up shot of anything that catches my eye.
Dining out is practically my middle name. Being a single guy, I have the freedom and luxury to dine out often, coming and going as I please. I truly enjoy my life.
I have been working for General Mills in West Chicago since 1993. I'm currently in the I.T. department, but by all means I am not a programmer nor a techie or total geek. I tell people I'm a creative person in a non-creat...Expand for more
ive environment with good problem-solving skills.
College
College was a blast! I was mainly involved with Student Activities Board, campus newspaper, and the residence hall.
At home basketball games, I dressed up as a "blind referee" with dark sunglasses and had this routine where I'd walk out on court at half-time, shake hands with the refs, drop my white cane on court, and then wait for someone from the crowd to help me find my cane and escort me off the court. Amazingly, some people were convinced that I was blind!
My first class during my Freshman year was 8:00 a.m. By my Senior year, my first class was 1:00 p.m. I took the 5-year plan and double majored. I got all major requirements out of the way early so I could "coast" during my last year... and I thoroughly enjoyed it all!
