George's Story
After high school, I lived at home and worked at an electronics job in Royal Oak until I got sick of it and left at the end of '79. Bad move. I was in and out of a bunch of dead-end jobs until mid-'89. I picked up a decent factory job (in Farmington Hills) and moved into a small rental home in Novi. I stayed there for the next 13 years, through a couple more jobs and even moved in my high school girlfriend Marilyn Anderson with me (more on her later). I finally saved enough money by 2002 to actually buy a house; but property values were obscenely high, I moved to Flint because that's where I could afford to buy a house. So now I'm serving my 30-year sentence, I mean paying my mortgage off in lovely picturesque Flint, Michigan. I'm a contract computer tech, picking up jobs where I can and hoping the unemployment checks last in between.

a short break-up and got back together after I had moved to Novi. While she was living with me, we became engaged, then dis-engaged. We finally parted company in 1996. Sadly, Marilyn had several health issues in later life and passed on in April of 2008. I still miss her from time to time.
Some of you may also remember that I hung around with Jeff Squires quite a bit. We did that for a few years after high school, until some personal differences led to a parting of the ways around '85. Similar story with Glenn Samuel (class of '78) about mid-1989.
So that's the long and short of it, "me" for the last 30 years.
Finally, an upturn in the story! At the end of 2009, I managed to pick up a good contact job at the Volkswagen building in Auburn Hills. In December, they transitioned me to permanent! I finally have a permanent position with a decent wage and benefits, I may not have to work until I'm 80 to retire.
I hope my fellow classmates are doing as well.
