George's Story

George is from Teaneck, New Jersey. George's schools include Hawthorne Elementary, St. Anastasia, Bergen Tech and Teaneck High School. After high school, George served his country in the U.S. Navy. After the Navy, George worked for NJDOT in the Lodi maintenance garage for two years, before moving with his family to Alabama. George later attended Alabama State Fire Academy-Sheldon State (Firefighter I & II, High-Angle Rescue, Firefighter Apparatus Operator, Confined Space, Trench Rescue), and state-certified EMS instructor; also, Alabama Police Academy-Selma, AL (101st Session of the Alabama State Basic Police Academy) , Lurleen B. Wallace Jr. College-Greenville (Emergency Medical Services - Intermediate) , Lurleen B. Wallace Jr. College-Greenville (Emergency Medical Services-Basic) , Trenholm TC (Emergency Medical Services-Paramedic, Basic Trauma Life Support-Instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor) . He worked 27 years in EMS, where he managed three different ambulance services, and in the last 8 years of that part of his career worked as an industrial paramedic and safety specialist, caring for 850 team members in the poultry processing industry. s Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and John Lennon. TV shows George likes include MASH, and he really enjoys watching and sharing The Chosen. He especially enjoys sharing the love of Jesus Christ with everyone he meets. One of George's favorite quotes is:"Science without religion is lame; religion without science is blind" -Albert Einstein." George and his wife Nongnart (Nona) live in Mossy Head, FL. He has worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts since 2014, and has been a store manager since 2018, the past 4 years in Freeport, Fl., minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. Together they have five children, ranging in ages from 35-13. George was saved as a Christian in 2016, and is a member of Mossy Head First Baptist Church, where he serves as a Deacon, and is currently serving as the Chairman of Deacons, and the Director of Security. One of his favorite memories of Teaneck is growing up in Glenwood Park, where everyone looked out for each other. He has been an avid outdoorsman and conservationist all of his life, growing up as the eldest son of the late George Wacha Jr., who was known for teaching hundreds of people including his own children, the art of trapping fur bearers, living off the land and conservation.
