Georgette's Story
My last trip was to Arizona November-December 2023. Traveling has been suspended until I get my sciatica sorted.
Hoping the Eagles have a good year. A couple of my favs retired.
Last October I adopted a cat from the SPCA. She’s only a year old, a tortie, which I’m partial to. My last cats were Jazz and Rhapsodi, so even though her kennel name was Moon, I changed it to Allegro, Ally for short, in keeping with the musical theme. Allegro is sprightly and lively music and energetic jumps in ballet, so I thought it apropo.
Although my favorite tv shows were on PBS’s Masterpiece Mystery Theater: “Miss Scarlett and the Duke”, Frankie Drakes Mysteries, “Grantchester” and “Endeavour”, I found even more to like on BritBox. A mix of ancient times, archeology and murder mystery.
I worked in banking for 13 years, continued my art education, operated art galleries, worked as office manager for my husband's real estate business for 20 years until his death in 2015. Now work at being retired, reading and traveling.
I have three sons and three granddaughters. One graduated as...Expand for more
a Temple Owl and works for The Art Group cataloging estates for appraisals. One at a business major at Towson U graduating May. The third received 1st place for her fine arts portfolio and also graduates this May. Her major is Fine Art with minors in Art History and Chemistry. She’s going into art conservation.
Through the Global Penfriends website, I have friends in Maine, New Zealand and an ex-pat Aussie in Myrtle Beach.
While staying at Shawnee on the Delaware, I drove to New Milford, NJ to visit June Doyle (Sr. Joyce) art teacher exemplar! She is amazing, remembers everything. She’s 95. She has photo albums galore of art classes and stage crew, shows at ND. I posted a couple. Lots of travel stories in Ireland had me laughing until tears. Can’t wait for next visit. Anyone who had a blast on stage crew or in her classes should give her a call or write. 146 Holland Ave., New Milford, NJ 07646.
2022 - I had a nice time at our 60th reunion. Made a point to meet and catch up with old friends. It was mentally exhausting though challenging the old brain cells!
