Georgia's Story
I was a strange but smart girl who attended Florence in sophomore, jr., and sr. years but had to move to Coolidge HS before graduation. Florence is still my home school in my mind. I married Eugene Cole right away after graduation, moved to Tucson. We had one son, Russell Cole. Divorced in 1977, married Ed Brousseau. In 1972 I graduated Pima Community College, in 1974 from U of A with a B.A in Elementary Education with High Distinction, then an M.A. in 1979. the way, I was twice elected to the PCC Bd of Governors, and twice ran for the State Senate in Dist. 14, but didn't win there. Came close though! Taught college for a few years. In 2006 UA Alumni Assoc. honored me for Distinguished Professional Achievement. In 2009, PCC Foundation named me to PCC Alumni Hall of Fame for Distinguished Accomplishments. Now I teach quilting, and teach citizenship to immigrants as a volunteer. Still play a community role. I have two beautiful granddaughters and two cats and a husband - Ed Brousseau - who is also retired.
