Gerald's Story
Went to Pitt after graduation and joined the USAF in '62. Spent 6 years in California training KC-135 tanker pilots. Moved to Birmingham to work as a Customer Engineer for IBM in '68 and retired in 1993. Couldn't stay in one IBM job very long. Starting in '73 I changed jobs every two or three years. I worked in product development in Rochester, MN; managed service engineers in Tampa, FL; coordinated worldwide Equal Opportunity planning from Armonk, NY; manage parts logistics from Atlanta, GA; managed a Service Office in Queens, NY; coordinated worldwide Key Entry Business Planning from Franklin Lakes, NJ. e delivery, worked as assistant to the area manager, managed large customer and government technical services, and wrapped up my career as a Services Business Consultant. After IBM I started a IT company that served state and local governments. In '00 a friend and I started exporting used cloths to The Central Africa Republic. In '04 I retired but still do some IT consulting.
I have three kids, two are in Kansas City, MO and one in San Diego, four grandkids and four great grandkids. I finished my degree at Syracuse. I'm divorced and have been in a relationship since 2010. Currently I'm remodeling my house to sell with a plan to move to Florida's Gulf Coast by 2018.
