Gerald's Story
School
For those who knew me well, high school was both a haven and challenge for me. I embraced learning and networking fully, loved to be around friends and meeting the rigors of academia. At the same time, I had many personal issues that tested me to the brink of wondering how I would see a new day and be sane. Following LTHS I was quite disillusioned since what should been a paved road was only brittle dirt trail, and many of my dreams were not realized. ary of UIC and its program (long story how I got here in the first place).
In all, I still smile, laugh, reflect, and share as I always have. Much love and thanks to those who've been there for me since Day 1, whatever is appropriate in our relationship. Workplace
My work history is not as elaborate as some of my friends or peers but it could be considered unique in some ways. I've worked three summer for the Chicago Police Department in investigation and records. I spent the summer after graduation in Colorado as a forest ranger of sorts maintaining the landscape in the Rocky Mtns. Did a few clerical jobs on-campus, while being a store clerk at a medical bookstore and a sales associate at Banana Republic. Not the best of pay at times but experience well worth it nonetheless.
