ied 46 years at reunion time. we've had some great times - seen lots of the world and experienced many diverse cultures, had some kids, planted some trees along the way, co-authored 2 books and chapters in 2 others. and taught some classes at university and for companies worked for. looking forward to the 50th reunion. we made no. 10 at disneyland but missed the others. College at Wisconsin joined Sigma Nu fraternity imediately. our house was similar to "animal house" but not quite as rauncy. we did have our toga parties and road trips. played football and swam until classes got in way and it was time to hang up the clets and swim suit. worked thru school: waiter; short order cook; hospital orderly(most interesting job -working w/ pysch. word) and teaching assistant-mining engr. after i met mary(my wife now) we added to the fraternity scene - the "beat generation" with great parties and sign alongs(not too much on the poetry scene - though we did have "the pad" to hang out at). at u.s.c. we became part of the "married graduate students - living off campus" group. worked my first year there part time selling for the fuller brush co("very interesting" as artie johnson on laugh-in used to say). dealing w/ people in their castles. the second year i started my work part time with mobil. we got to experience the whole "hippy period" in l.a./hollywood/etc. took some friends from orange county who had never been in hollywood for a "sight seeing tour"(thought we were going to have to take them in for wiplass treatment). must admit we prefered the "beat period".
