School
Shop class was fun and we really had some clowns. I won't forget the day a bunch of the guys slid the shop teachers little car over between a big tree and the shop building. I don't know how he got it out of there. It was always a lot of fun to run the 3and1/2 miles thru the country in p.e. class. Some days Jerry Sears and I would get out of study hall so we could run it twice in one day.

Military
After basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood Iwent to field radio repair school(296.1)(31E20) at Ft.Gordon,Ga. After that I went to Taegu,Korea and worked at a microwave/vhf fixed site(14 months).From there I went to Ft. Riley,Kansas and worked in Post Field Maint.repairing radio equipment.Most of it was for the 1 st div.(Big Red 1)going to Vietnam.From there I returned to civilian life.
