Gerald's Story

I attended Teft Elementary School, Springfield, Mo. 1st grade, 1939, teacher Miss Berry; 2nd grade, 1940; cannot recall teacher's name. Moved to St. Louis when Springfield Furniture Factory closed in those pre-war months. I met my "First Love" in 1st-2nd grade, and her name was Betty Sue Martin ! A beautiful little girl, blonde hair, Shirley Temple curls ! Another "war-torn"...Expand for more

Well, I met Ruthie, the girl who later became my wife in St. Louis, when she was 6 and I was 8... met in Sunday School... married at 16 & 18, and we were married 62 years when Ruthie died very unexpectedly two years ago (2013). We had a great life... sometimes were tough, but just like those childhood bedtime stories... "AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER" ! ! !
