My wife stella and I still reside in Houston, where my son goes to HCC and studies tenor, with plans to go on to UH and Opera....I spend my spare time Painting (not houses) and my wife is a writer.....I have an MFA from ASU in Tempe and a BFA UH in Drama.....All my immediate family still alive and kicking in various places across texas....my work can be viewed on Artbistro.com under gthorp If you have viewed my timeline you will see some interesting dates which reflect on what it was like to be bi-polar ...Expand for more
and untreated...a lot of stops and starts in life and career. After getting a handle on chemical dependancy I was finally able to get treatment for a bi-polar disorder in december of 1994, twenty years after I was first diagnosed....My life is infanitly easier for me and especialy my family!! The stigma of mental illness has changed dramaticly since my 21st birthday. Just about all of these disorders are quite manageble today with support we could not have dreamed of back in the day....just refer to the internet!
