Gerard's Story
I began my high school career at CATHEDRAL COLLEGE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION, which was comprised of four years of high school and the first two years of college. Cathedral was a preparatory seminary for the priesthood located in BROOKLYN,N.Y. From there you would go to the major seminary in HUNTINGTON,L.I. It was known as THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION SEMINARY. However I realized that I did not have that vocation in my junior year in high school and left. I transferred to ST.JOHN'S PREP on willoughby ave in Brooklyn,n.y. Upon graduation from the prep I went out to ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY on the hillcrest campus in queens n.y. rolled as a student at the prep. So if I had remained at the univerrsity instead of graduating on time in 1961 I would have graduated in 1962. I was seeking a bachelor of arts degree. I likely would have known students fromm the 1962 and 1961 graduating classes.
Growing up in Brooklyn,n.y. I was a die hard BROOKLYN DODGER fan. The"Boys of Summer" Iit's a wonderful memory. How I rooted for them.
I share my home with my wife and grandson, which I find very loving. If I could do one thing over it would be to complete my college education and get a degree.
I am retired now and would like to go back to college and get a degree.
My current age is 71. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be gone. I was so completely wrong.
My hero is my wife. She is a registered nurse. She is the most decent and caring person I've ever known.
