Gerard's Story
Life
I graduated from Duquesne in '68. I was a CAPT in the Marines and served in VA, Vietnam, Okinawa and Wash DC. I got a Masters in International Affairs from George Washington Univ. in '74. I worked as a Washington Lobbyist, and in Intl. Affairs for the FAA and the Coast Guard. In the Summer of '04 I retired as Foreign Policy Advisor to the Commandant and Director, International Affairs for the Coast Guard, Dept. of Homeland Security. School
At Canevin HS I believe I was most inspired by Mr Rogers our Science teacher. We were truly challenged by Fr Ronald's Math Tests which were given to us a week ahead of time and our curve scores were still in the 50's and 60's.
College
The 3 hardest programs in the Business curriculum were arguably; Corp Fin, Economic History, and Economic Geography. I have fond memories of Schussler and Grosset but never enjoyed Arthur G. Wentz, nor his method of scare teaching. However, I do remember his name.
