Gerry's Story
Life
My family moved around so much when I was in school that all I ever wanted to do was stay put. I wanted to have a close group of friends and not have to worry about leaving them behind when we moved again. After getting married, I spent several years being wife and mom. Now that my oldest is married, the second is a student at Ohio State University and the youngest is at Ohio University, life is all about my husband and me.

s as an EMT with a local emergency squad. I loved helping people. Now I am Director of Emergency Management for my county. I love this position, I can not believe that I have went from being shy and withdrawn from people to doing disaster education, making speeches for large groups of people and conducting meetings with public leaders from the local, state, and federal government. When I think of those school days when I felt like dying every time a teacher even looked my way, I can not believe that I have the life I have now.
