Gery's Story
My family could not afford the cost to have my Senior picture taken, so I am not in the 1958 yearbook. Myself and two of my friends quit school in January of 1958 and joined the Air Force. I did finish school in late 1958 while in the Air Force and was issued a HS Diploma by the State of Ohio that same year.. I spent the first 12 years after high school as a member of the Air Force traveling around parts of the world. Got married in 1962. Got discharged from the Air Force because my wife did not appreciate me leaving her to travel on temporary duty leaving her to take care of herself. Had a daughter 3 years after getting out of AF. re years we had a son. We have two great kids. After working for the same company for 35 years I retired at the end of 2004. When I became bored after sitting home for 2 years I took a part time job, and I retired from it after 6 years. My Son and Daughter are both graduates of the University of Central Florida. Son is a Music Teacher and my daughter is an Art Teacher in the public school system, my son and daughter in law have one child, a daughter born 5 Dec 2020.. I have been going to Ohio a couple of times every summer to visit friends and family. My wife died in October 2014 so now I spend my time trying to find something to keep me busy.
