Glen's Story
Life
I began my radio career at the age of 16 in Sacramento, Ca. As a senior in high school, I interned at KHYL/KAHI and eventually worked weekends. Upon graduation, I became a member of the KHYL Oldies 101 morning show and hosted Saturday mornings solo. By age 19 I landed in Las Vegas at KKLZ in 1988, where I became skilled in production and hosted late nights. Moving back to Sacramento to be nearer to family in 1990, I hosted "Lights Out" on KQPT, 100.5. I went back to hosting classic rock at the legendary KZAP in 1991 and found myself playing the final song of the 26 year-old rock giant, as the format flipped to KNCI Fresh Country. with listeners. I went in search of smooth jazz and found it at KMJZ in Minneapolis, MN in 1995. I began working part-time and was quickly elevated to the positions of Production Director and Afternoon Drive Host. Corporate mergers took KMJZ off the air in September of 1998. I decided I needed a major life change. I headed west to Phoenix, Arizona and was fortunate enough to land a position in March of 2000 at KYOT, Smooth Jazz 95.5 "The Coyote", where I hosted mid-days. I now live back in Minnesota working at a recording studio where I voice business telephone systems, voice radio commercials, corporate DVD narration, among other projects. I am currently developing a nationally syndicated project called NiteRhythms.
