Glen's Story
I'm on facebook where guest books are free!
Cheryl and I met in college and were just friends. Some nights I walked her home after she got tired of stalking the guy in the dorm room across the hall :-)
We only had one date in college and it was so unremarkable that she doesn¿t even remember it. I missed her after moving out into the cold cruel world and she must have been a little lonely too since she came out for visits when invited. We didn¿t like it when visits ended so we made it permanent.
We worked for a number of years before having children, almost always just down the hall from each other. First at Boeing in Seattle then for IBM and GE in the Binghamton, New York area and finally we came back to an area with people more like home so we felt comfortable enough to have our children.
Cheryl is now at home taking care of our 8 and 10 year old girls while I work for Phoenix International which is the electronic manufacturing division of John Deere. I'm currently a senior design engineer. I make the equipment that tests our produ...Expand for more
cts before they ship.
Our daughters are straight ¿A¿ students and are involved with 4H and dance. The oldest plays the violin. I expect this all to change next year when the oldest becomes a teenager.
We have a small hobby farm on the river just north of West Fargo. I have a huge garden with way too many weeds, 20 acres of soy beans, a couple dozen chickens, 4 geese, 5 outdoor cats (where do they come from?), a beehive and a black lab named buddy. I hunt and fish in the back yard and have an 8 minute commute to work (unless I get stuck behind a combine). I enjoy my life.
Our basement flooded in 1997 and the foundation of the old farm house needed to be fixed so instead we built a new house. The old house is still standing just a few feet to the north and a few feet lower then the new one. Someday I¿ll tear it down and build a shop.
My parents moved from Perch Lake just before the new Wal-Mart was built to a little farm between Staples and Motley. They are moving a lot slower but still seem to get everything done that needs to be.
