Glen's Story
Life
My life has been especially rewarding in many ways! I have a wonderful family, good friends and I have enjoyed my life. There have been a few curves every now and then but I seem to have survived.
I have recently been recovering from an auto accident that has placed itself as an obstacle in my path. It is going to take a bit to get back on track. Important lesson is to maintain good insurance (auto, medical and disability), as well as an attorney for advice.
I have stayed in South Brevard County after college. I met my wife through friends/clients at the bank where I worked. It is fun to watch my daughter attend Melbourne High School where I went thirty years ago!
Finance and lending has been my career focus, although dealing with people on a professional level regarding their concerns or plans is what I have actually done by handling mortgages and other financial services.
I have done things in the community that range from helping out one of the local soccer clubs, where I still assist with the scheduling, to being involved with my church. At one time I was actively involved in a number of service organizations (Rotary, Sertom...Expand for more
a). I often participate in various professional groups when involved with work such as the Chamber of Commerce or the Home Builders Association.
I got a lot out of school and college and there are great memories of UF, Melbourne High School and Randolph High School (even though I only attended the school a short time!).
It was great to be raised up North so that I could be exposed to all the history and experiences there but wonderful to finish growing up in Florida where things were different with the palm trees and sunshine!
College
Attending the University of Florida was a great experience. As an underclasman in the University College, to an upperclassman in the College of Business, the school had so much to offer and I often wish that I applied myself more diligently. It was a great education and such wonderful exposure to such various issues and studies.
Luckily, I was able to experience so many things,... art, music, martial arts (Wado Kai!), the Gator football games, the baseball games & gymnastic meets,... meeting so many people from all over the state, the country and the world,... I wish I had kept in touch with many of them!
