After graduating from WHS, I attended Chandler School for Women in Boston for two years trying to become a "well-dressed, poised, charming, well-coiffed, well-groomed, intelligent conversationalist; politically savvy, excellent cook, immaculate housekeeper, marry a wealthy older widower with no children (or 'issues' as they say)" and provide him with his own well-behaved kids. Since that wasn't happening, I decided maybe I should learn shorthand, typing, accounting, English Literature, Art Appreciation, European History, Music Appreciation, Medical Terminology, Anatomy, etc. We were in competition with Katy Gibbs on Newbury Street, so we had to look extra nice and APPEAR smart. Met wonderful girls at Chandler, though; still see four of them a couple of times a year - our fifth pal passed away 3 years ago.
