Two beautiful days in a row, the lake level is up close to the full mark, just had the boat serviced and it's clean. Can't ask for more than that.
This goes back to 1968 (TBT). I was stationed at the Navy Electronics Supply Office in Great Lakes. Not sure what the occasion was, but we were dressed for it. It was either a formal affair at the CPO Club, or a grand openi
It will be TBT time in a little over an hour. I'll post now, I'll be asleep by then. This is a news article from the Stanly News and Press newspaper in Albemarle, NC. It was published March 30, 1956.
The word in the 1970's was that Apple was coming out with a personal computer. the question was, "What the heck is a personal computer? TBT... My first one looked something like this Apple II.

The good news is that it has continued to rain and the lake level is coming up to the "full" mark. The bad news is that I'm going to need some scuba gear to get out to my dock. My gauge on the back deck is showing just abou
Guess I'm going to have to get a bigger rain gauge. This is a total of what we have seen since this stuff started this past week. It doesn't show any signs of slacking up right now!

Working on some TBT stuff for tomorrow. Ayako has always been a "dog person". This one goes back to 1960 in Japan. These dogs belonged to our landlord, but they liked to hang out with Ayako.
This is a Tee Shirt Allen gave me for my birthday. I don't understand all the words, but I like it. I hope the Renshaw shipmates will like it, too.

The part you can't read means "Not for self, but for country"
TBT mid-1960s. Our squadron of destroyers in Long Beach was named for Red Ryder's sidekick, Little Beaver. I wonder if we could use that name today? Our ship, the USS Eversole was in Division 232 of that squadron.
This is TBT to 2008. I'll never complain about having to move my dock in to shore when when lake level is high! This was a tough time.
This goes back to 1986. My Navy career was behind me and we were living in Tokyo. I was working with the airlines during the day and moonlighting as a cowboy at night!
Had a visitor stop by this morning. Told me he was just passing through..
View over the bow of my pontoon boat. This is why we have a lake house!
"Together We Served" is a military related site that stores information and events from our service years. They recently sent me a mini-plaque picture covering my Navy years. I was happy to receive it and wanted to pass it
Happy Birthday to my wife and partner in life. She really likes all the comments and good wishes from everyone today. Thank you!!
Here is a picture I took this morning. She's beautiful, as always.
It's snowing in Hartwell, GA, too!
Some of you may have missed this in your newspaper. It was published in the Stanly News and Press in Albemarle, NC, on March 30, 1956.
