Glenn's Story

Life Dear friends, Thank you for visiting my profile. In addition to nurturing my family, friends and flourishing real estate sales career, I joined the York Mills Collegiate Fiftieth anniversary committee. The York Mills reunion this past spring was a huge success with over 4,000 attendees. It was a pleasure and honuour to serve on the reunion committee. Everyone who attended or taught at York Mills during the past 50 years was cordially invited, with festivities scheduled for the weekend of April 27, 28, and 29 in 2007. Highlights included: Friday pub night, Saturday reunion and Sunday brunch. It was great fun! Thank you to all who contributed and attended! We're looking forward to the 60th anniversary reunion. Please help us to build our contact database. If you went to York Mills or know someone who did, please phone or email us with current contact information. You may recall that, while at York Mills and McMaster, I created, led, and/or joined, many clubs and services. It has been a pleasure to serve and volunteer. This tradition continues as part of my daily life. I'll always enjoy the rich connection between good friends and never be lonely. Service provides it's own many rewards. 2007 has been another busy year. Warm hugs and wishes for your best happiness, prosperity and health. I remember everyone fondly. Best regards, Glenn Ps. How are you doing? What’s new? I’d like to know. Please call, write or email. School Thank you all for electing me Student Council president in 1977. I enjoyed my time in public office, and feel that I, together with help from a talented multitude, contributed significantly to enhancing the afterschool experience, and spirit, at York Mills in 1978. I enjoyed many valuable friendships while at York Mills. Some memories:Student council meetings, School dances, Trays of draft at the Jolly Miller. Interviewing bands at downtown bars and clubs, Poker with the guys, Lunchtime drives in my 69 volkswagon bug. English, Math, and accounting classes were favourites and have served me well in life. I appreciated being an accepted member of all cliques. I had great fun: romping around the halls in costume, playing chess and backgammon while being accused of sitting on horseshoes, generating any after school club to promote all worthy ideas, experiencing loving relationships. Thank you for your support and appreciation! Sincerely, Glenn Galloway College McMaster University, in Hamilton, has a wonderful campus. I lived on the fifth floor, in Woodstock residence, for the two years that I attended Mac. I was enrolled in the Commerce program. ous, fun loving, clever, well balanced guys, as were on my floor, and in my residence. There were many a prank, raid or party, each month. The young women of Brandon, the girl's residence next door to us at Woodstock, were beautiful, smart, gracious, well mannered and sexy. Although I had at least one friend on each of the floors of Brandon residence, in order to be able to visit without an escort at any time, I found myself feeling generally intimidated by so many fabulous girls. It took years for me to finally feel totally confident, and self assured, with women. Oh, if I only knew then, what I know now. Doh ! In my second year, student politics once again took it's toll, as it had in high school, on my academic studies. It was definitely worth it though. Those two years, spent in an elected position on the Student Representative Assembly, as part of the McMaster Student's Union, were two of the most exciting and vibrant years of my life. Thank you for your support! In addition to representing the University's Business and Commerce students, I served a term as Chief Election Officer for the Union, and a term as Chairman of the Student Services committee. Among other duties, I can assure you that I spent many a night at The Downstairs John and Ratskellar pubs, personally ensuring excellent customer service, entertainment, and quality control. In the end, it was my political credentials that most interested the job interviewers of the time. I received nine offers in nine interviews. I declined the offers and dropped out after my second year. I worked briefly for Bell Canada, as a summer installer, as I had done the previous year. I had previously established my own contract painting company, and painted on my days off. Eventually, I obtained my real estate licence and the rest is a 25 year career, and history, of residential real estate sales. It's ironic to me, that I wrote my first career goal as " I want to do Business, Law, and Politics" . That's what real estate sales is to me everyday. And, I love it! Thanks for reading my bio. God bless us ... everyone!
