Gloria's Story
I bead!
My Mom and Gram are my heros!
To Lighten Up! Not to be so serious! D' Don't Worry About It!
I'm still more comfortable in a pair of jeans!
I share my home with my kids and my grandson, which I find is OK! My kids are the most important people in my life, and now I have a grandson, and I'm happy to be Gramma!.
My 'trophies' are diffeent from others. I see my trophies as the gifts that have been given to me by friends/co-workers, When I'm feeling depressed or a little down, I take a look at my home and see all the things that I've received and I feel Loved!
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a cool idea idea. As it turns out, they were right.
I learned to bead when I worked in an alcohol/drug treatment center, its very relaxing.
The biggest surprise to me, is speaking in front of big crowds, I was
sorta quiet and shy when in High School at Moclips. I have spoke in front of 250 plus Native People at a conference while in Palm Springs CA.
I've spoken in front of...Expand for more
our Genereal Body Mtgs, I have done presentations on Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault.
It still shocks the heck out of me, when I think about it!
I really liked Mr. Mrs Tucker, the band teacher and the librarian. I have stayed in touch with them, Mrs. Tucker was a great support for me when I lost my Mom back in 1974, as well as a very good friend, he was a good friend also, when I lost my first husband 28 years ago. We have stayed in touch!
I'm not sure it its the weirdest job, but I used to take payroll (up to $95,000)on board the big ships that came in to Aberdeen, back in 1983, it was fun!
One thing I would definately do over, is talk to the JOM counselors when the princibal told me I wouldn't graduate with my class. He told me I wouldn't have enough credits to graduate, which I found out was a lie. He was the princibal, so I believed him, I ended up quitting my senior year!
I hope my classmates remember as being a good person, I never got in much trouble. I started skipping and my grades dropped after I lost my Mom.
