Gordon's Story
I graduated one year early from Allendale-Fairfax -- in 1971. I had enough college credits so I left.
I attended The Citadel and graduated in 1975. I had taken a commission as an officer in the Air Force and was in the Air Force Reserve until 1983 at Charleston AFB. I was an aircraft maintenance officer in the 315 Military Airlift Wing. They flew C-141's out of Charleston.
In 1977, I attended court reporter school at Midland's Tech in Columbia. In 1979, I became a state court reporter and lived and worked out of Walterboro, SC, until late in 1989.

left and came home to Fairfax. I worked for a short period as a stockboy at Gatlin's grocery store and at the Allendale Correctional Institution as a correctional officer.
In 1992, I went to work for Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site. In 2007, I took early retirement.
I'm an active member of First Baptist Church of Fairfax. I have been a deacon there for almost twenty years. I sing a lot -- including the church choir. I'm an active mason and Lion's Club member. I'm also a member of the Son's of Confederate Veterans, Camp 842 (River's Bridge).
