Gordon's Story
Hi,
I attended k-5 at Washington Elementary. I don't remember the name of our Kindergarten teacher, but she drew a birthday cake that looked like a hat with candles. In fact, I was well into adulthood before I figured out it was supposed to be a cake. First grade was Mrs Johnson. 2nd or third was Miss Gordon, and 5th was Mr Schrauger. (sp?) We had actual music teachers who taught us stuff I still remember and use today, and still sing some of the songs, much to my wife'...Expand for more

I remember the earthquake. It must have been recess or lunch, because we were outside.
I remember a lot of the kids I went to school with (HS grad class of 1960) and actually quite a few names. Would like to reconnect with anyone from that class at Washington, even though we moved out of State when I was in the 7th grade.
Finished 6th at Lincoln school.
I'm a retired Methodist preacher now, living in Aberdeen.
