Life A year after graduation, I got married, had my son and left California. My husband was in the military at the time and we moved to Virginia and were stationed in Camp Pendleton for the next three years. We had our second child in 1993. After that, we moved back to Virginia for another 3 years and then my husband left the service and got a job in Palm Beach, Florida where we stayed for less than a year because we hated it so much. After Florida, we moved to the Chicago, Illinois suburbs and finally to New England where we have lived in the Boston area and the Hartford Connecticut area (where we are presently) since 2000. Moving around has been a challenge, but leaving California has been a great experience. We have seen most of the country and I've had my eyes opened to wonderful places and people. In 2000, after my kids were old enough, I went back to school fulltime and finished my undergrad degree in social work.
