They say "Time is your best friend" and I agree. It's been a little over 43 yrs since I graduated from Martin HS in Laredo, Texas, Class of '69. Very proud of my Alma mater---"once a Tiger, Always a Tiger." I've attended a few class reunions: 20th, 35th, 40th and 42nd which took place August, 2011. A 44th is being planned as I revise this story. Reunions can be very memorable; however, our bulletin board of deceased classmates, unfortunately increases every time we meet. This is the reason why some of us classmates here in Laredo keep close tabs with each other by holding gatherings at people's houses or at a favorite spot in town. E-mails are sent out to those who have provided an address and are notified of upcoming events. Some classmates living out of town make it to our parties and that's always rewarding to see them and spent time with them. I'm retired; at age 57 I retired from United ISD where I worked in different capacities: teacher, elementary/secondary counselor and then administration. I also worked at our local university making it a total of 33 yrs of service in the educational setting including two teaching years with The Laredo Job Corps as a Clerical Teacher. I truly enjoyed every area of service---it was a rewarding experience! My Mom lives with me; we were four (4) sisters but one went to be with the Lord a few years ago. We are all a close-knit family; my nieces and nephews now have children of their own and Mom enjoys having ALL of them together---that is her pride and joy and puts a smile on her face everytime. I'm single--never married (no regrets) and still petite (if u remember me); I enjoyed working part-time (after retirement) for our lo...Expand for more
