Sunken down so far. So scared to fall, I might not get up again. So I lay at Your feet, all my brokeness. I carry all of my burdens to You. All of these things I've held up in vain. No reason, no rhyme, just the scars that remain. Of all of these things, I'm so much afraid. Scared out of my mind by the demons I've made. Sweet Jesus, You never ever let me go. Oh, sweet Jesus, never ever let me go. So happy to love, yet so far to go. You lead me on to where I've never been before. All of these things I've held up in vain. No reason, no rhyme, just the scars that remain. Of all of these things, I'm so much afraid. Scared out of my mind by the demons I've made. Sweet Jesus, You never ever let me go. Oh, sweet Jesus, You never ever let me go. No, no, no, no, no sweet Jesus! You never let me go!" - Jars of Clay "I am the only one to blame for this. Somehow it all ends up the same. Soaring on the wings of selfish pride I flew too high, and like Icarus I collide with a world I try so hard to leave behind. To rid myself of all but love, to give and die. To turn away and not become another nail to pierce the skin of the One who loves more deeply than the oceans, more abundant than the tears of a world embracing every heartache. Can I be the one to sacrifice? Or grip the spear and watch the blood and water flow? To love You - take my world apart. To need You - I am on my knees. To love You - Take my world apart. To need You - broken on my knees. All said and done I stand alone amongst remains of a life I should not own. It takes all I am to believe in the mercy that covers me. Did You really have to die for me? All I am for all You are because what I need and what I believe are worlds apart. To love You - take my world apart. To need You - I am on my knees. To love You - Take my world apart. To need You - broken on my knees. I look beyond the empty cross, forgetting what my life has cost. Wipe away the crimson stains and "dull the nail that still remains." More and more I need You now, I owe You more each passing hour. The battle between grace and pride, I gave up not so long ago. So steal my heart and take the pain and wash my feet and cleanse my pride. Take the selfish, take the weak and all the things I cannot hide. Take the beauty, take my tears, the sin-soaked heart and make it Yours. Take my world all apart. Take it now, take it now and serve the ones that I despise! Speak the words I can't deny! Watch the world I used to love fall to dust and thrown away! Take the beauty, take my tears. Take my world apart, take my world apart. And I pray, I pray, I pray: take my world apart." - Jars of Clay Senior Quote: "Someday we'll trust Him and learn how to see Him. Someday He'll call us and we will come running and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and we'll pray: I want to fall in love with You" - Jars of Clay “Never let anything so fill you with sorrow as to make you forget the joy of the Risen Christ.” - Mother Teresa “So much has been given to me, I have not time to ponder over that which has been denied.” - Helen Keller Music: "For some, music is not just a pastime, it's an undeniable fact of living, a blissful slavery of mind, body and soul. To rise above the ashes of mediocrity is rare, yet the gift of song is freely handed out to anyone who cares to receive it, instantly shattering our daily drudgery. The path to pursue more than the usual, more than what is safe and known, is wrought with time-sharpened jagged blades that cut deep, blocking many from the road to something greater, beyond the stunted imagination of their peers. Within the veins of the few, passion fills every sinew with a sweet unquenchable purpose, calming the fear of those treacherous paths. Though each slice burns and bleeds, still they take each cut and wear the scars with pride to signal their choice, that undying pursuit of greater joy within every chord. And so they say - Watch Me Bleed." - Hanson "The 'humanities' express both the universals and the uniqueness, the constants and the contingencies of human selfhood. Literature is a laboratory wherein authors study the human condition by exploring the panoply of human possibilities...Painters, similarly, seek self-understanding through self-portraiture...It is perhaps in music above all that humanity flexes its freedom and explores its spirit. Melodies are 'the supreme mystery of man' and have the power to mend, or rend, the heart in ways that are inexplicable by psychology or physics alike." - Kevin Vanhoozer "To me the entire Gospel in one Scripture is this: 'For God (the greatest lover), so loved (to the greatest extent) that He gave (the greatest act) His incomparable Son (the greatest gift) that whosoever (the greatest multitude) believes (the greatest simplicity) in Him (the greatest attraction) shall not perish (the greatest rescue) but (the greatest difference) have (the greatest certainty) eternal life (the greatest possession).'" - Jim Simpkin "I give all praise, honor, and glory to the Lord. It's through His grace we are saved, and to me, that's beautiful, because I know I need a lot of grace." - Tina Allen "Your future won't come any faster than He allows." - Susan Lauer "Preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary use words." - St. Francis of Assisi "I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." - C.S. Lewis "Without the cross the enemy could have set this clock in motion and sat back and drank a beer. He wouldn’t have had to do anything more than just go *dink* and then the whole set of dominoes goes down. And that’s why I love watching God thwart that. No wonder the enemy’s an angry son-of-a-gun – cause everything he does gets flipped on its head." - Gareth Best "Some people feel guilty about their anxieties and regard them as a defect of faith but they are afflictions, not sins. Like all afflictions, they are, if we can so take them, our share in the passion of Christ." - C.S. Lewis "When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through His might...Expand for more
y power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen." - Ephesians 3:14-21 "For my shield this day I call: A mighty power: The Holy Trinity! Affirming threeness, Confessing oneness, In the making of all Through love… For my shield this day I call: Christ’s power in his coming and in his baptising, Christ’s power in his dying On the cross, his arising from the tomb, his ascending; Christ’s power in his coming for judgment and ending. For my shield this day I call: strong power of the seraphim, with angels obeying, and archangels attending, in the glorious company of the holy and risen ones, in the prayers of the fathers, in visions prophetic and commands apostolic, in the annals of witness, in virginal innocence, in the deeds of steadfast men. For my shield this day I call: Heaven’s might, Sun’s brightness, Moon’s whiteness, Fire’s glory, Lightning’s swiftness, Wind’s wildness, Ocean’s depth, Earth’s solidity, Rock’s immobility. This day I call to me: God’s strength to direct me, God’s power to sustain me, God’s wisdom to guide me, God’s vision to light me, God’s ear to my hearing, God’s word to my speaking, God’s hand to uphold me, God’s pathway before me, God’s shield to protect me, God’s legions to save me: from snares of the demons, from evil enticements, from failings of nature, from one man or many that seek to destroy me, anear or afar. Around me I gather these forces to save my soul and my body from dark powers that assail me: against false prophesyings, against pagan devisings, against heretical lying and false gods all around me. Against spells cast by women by blacksmiths, by Druids, against knowledge unlawful that injures the body, that injures the spirit. Be Christ this day my strong protector; against poison and burning, against drowning and wounding, through reward wide and plenty … Christ beside me, Christ before me; Christ behind me, Christ within me; Christ beneath me, Christ above me; Christ to right of me, Christ to left of me; Christ in my lying, my sitting, my rising; Christ in heart of all who know me, Christ on tongue of all who meet me, Christ in eye of all who see me, Christ in ear of all who hear me. For my shield this day I call a mighty power: the Holy Trinity! affirming threeness, confessing oneness in the making of all - through love… For to the Lord belongs salvation, and to the Lord belongs salvation and to Christ belongs salvation. May your salvation, Lord, be with us always." - St. Patrick's Breastplate "My King was born King. The Bible says He's a Seven Way King. He's the King of the Jews - that's an Ethnic King. He's the King of Israel - that's a National King. He's the King of righteousness. He's the King of the ages. He's the King of Heaven. He's the King of glory. He's the King of kings and He is the Lord of lords. Now that's my King. Well, I wonder if you know Him. Do you know Him? Don't try to mislead me. Do you know my King? David said the Heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork. My King is the only one of whom there are no means of measure that can define His limitless love. No far seeing telescope can bring into visibility the coastline of the shore of His supplies. No barriers can hinder Him from pouring out His blessing. He's enduringly strong. He's entirely sincere. He's eternally steadfast. He's immortally graceful. He's imperially powerful. He's impartially merciful. That's my King. He's God's Son. He's the sinner's saviour. He's the centerpiece of civilization. He stands alone in Himself. He's honest. He's unique. He's unparalleled. He's unprecedented. He's supreme. He's pre-eminent. He's the loftiest idea in literature. He's the highest personality in philosophy. He's the supreme problem in higher criticism. He's the fundamental doctrine of true theology. He's the carnal necessity of spiritual religion. That's my King. He's the miracle of the age. He's the superlative of everything good that you choose to call Him. He's the only one able to supply all our needs simultaneously. He supplies strength for the weak. He's available for the tempted and the tried. He sympathizes and He saves. He's the Almighty God who guides. He heals the sick. He cleanses the lepers. He forgives sinners. He discharged debtors. He delivers the captives. He defends the feeble. He blesses the young. He serves the unfortunate. He regards the aged. He rewards the diligent and He beautifies the meek. Do you know Him? Well, my King is a King of knowledge. He's the wellspring of wisdom. He's the doorway of deliverance. He's the pathway of peace. He's the roadway of righteousness. He's the highway of holiness. He's the gateway of glory. He's the master of the mighty. He's the captain of the conquerors. He's the head of the heroes. He's the leader of the legislatures. He's the overseer of the overcomers. He's the governor of governors. He's the prince of princes. He's the King of kings and He's the Lord of lords. That's my King. That’s my King! My king, His office is manifold. His promise is sure. His light is matchless. His goodness is limitless. His mercy is everlasting. His love never changes. His Word is enough. His grace is sufficient. His reign is righteous. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Well! I wish I could describe Him to you . . . but He's indescribable. He’s indescribable. He's incomprehensible, He's invincible, and He is irresistible. I'm coming to tell you, the heavens of heavens cannot contain Him, let alone a man explain Him. You can't get Him out of your mind. You can't get Him off of your hands. You can't outlive Him and you can't live without Him. The Pharisees couldn't stand Him, but they found out they couldn't stop Him. Pilate couldn't find any fault in Him. The witnesses couldn't get their testimonies to agree. Herod couldn't kill Him. Death couldn't handle Him and the grave couldn't hold Him. That's my King! He always has been and He always will be. I'm talking about the fact that He had no predecessor and He'll have no successor. There was nobody before Him and there'll be nobody after Him. You can't impeach Him and He's not going to resign. That's my King! That's my King! Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory. Well, all the power belongs to my King. We around here talking about black power and white power and green power, but it’s God's power. Thine is the power. Yeah. And the glory. We try to get prestige and honor and glory for ourselves, but the glory is all His. Yes. Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever and ever and ever. How long is that? Forever and ever and ever and ever. . . And when you get through with all of the evers, then . . .Amen!" - Dr. Shadrach Meshach Lockeridge". More about Graeme:"My life-long responsibility is to represent Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior, Redeemer, Friend and Father through every action and every word I speak. I will never forget the indescribable sacrifice of love He made that I may one day walk through the golden streets of Heaven by his side. I wait for that perfect day with a joy that can only come from and through Him. He is my forever Father, Brother, Friend, Counselor, Mentor and Role-Model. Lord, You rescue me from the evils I create and the pride and selfishness within me. Continue to cleanse me and make me Your own. The thanks that I would present to You is a fraction of what You deserve but I know that You understand my limitations in expression and that the Holy Spirit will articulate for me. Thanks, Dad, for making me one of Your Children of Light.".
