Grant's Story
Joined IBM, at their request, right out of Point Grey - in '74. (Nordman thought I ought to go into physics at UBC - maybe I should have - but have managed to have a lot of fun none the less).
Worked for IBM in Vancouver, starting the Monday after the grad ceremony. Married my high-school sweetheart. In '82 went to Toronto; deep into the computer business; programming.
In '86 to Amsterdam, returned to T.O. after a couple of years, back to The Netherlands in '90. Married again in there somewhere.
Had an office in Paris from '93; around which time you might have seen the results of some stuff I'd done on the IBM website. Another divorce.
In '97 to New York. Still computers, but consulting (business process analysis) in the corporate CIO's office.

Having gone 'round the world a few times and earned way too many air-miles... retired more or less in '2002. Got a pension out of the IBM gig and moved back to Europe. Lazed around there, worked a little; got in some beach time. Moved back to Toronto for a spell. Then to Spain again.
Now an almond, olive, and grape farmer.
Married and divorced a couple of times along the way. No kids. No pets.
Drifted into the cuisine world and graduated Le Cordon Bleu (Paris) cooking school in 2005.

Then the cooking business got iffy so was developing websites.
Currently living frugally in a restored Spanish farmhouse in the countryside - working the fields.
