Life 2024/02/27 In 2005, after nearly 25 years living in the Prescott area and working for the Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) as a Trackman/Truck driver, Foreman, and Safety Trainer, I was asked to serve our Union (Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (BMWED-IBT) in Washington, DC. I was there for six years and, before moving on, was working as the Director of Edumacation and Training. Yes, I was also a registered Lobbyist, but I prefer to refer to my role in politics as "Adult Education." It was, without a doubt, the best job I'd ever had. So far, my only regret is that I didn't have this opportunity twenty years sooner. Such is Life. In 2011, I left DC to work in the BMWED-IBT's AT&SFF System Federation Office at Newton, KS as an Assistant General Chairman, where I worked to write and file our Member's Claims and Grievances, as well as representing them in discipline hearings. Alas, I am not a very good politician so, in 2013, I returned to my craft in Arizona, where I now reside and work for BNSF once again. On February 1, 2023, after 42 years and 5 days of employment at ATSF/BNSF I became retired. Now, maybe I'll have time to return to college. Along the way, I met and married Diana, who has remained at my side as a Homemaker for 42 years years and has given us two great children (Daughter 42/ Son 38). On April 20, 2014, I became a Grandpa.
