Greg's Story

Gregory Lilyhorn is a former Senior Law Enforcement & Security Inspector for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Immigration & Custom Enforcement, Office of Federal Protective Services having honorably retired after twenty years of federal law enforcement service in 2004. From 2004 until 2010 he was employed as the Senior Corporate Security Executive for Tenet Healthcare Corporation, a Fortune Five-Hundred Company in Dallas Texas. Currently he is President and CEO of Solid Source Security Solutions LLC which is a fully bonded and licensed security consulting, investigative and special executive protection company that supports clients worldwide. In addition, he also serves has an adjunct licensed police instructor for the Dallas Community Colleges Police Academy and as a court qualified Forensic Litigation Investigator and consultant on civil and criminal matters involving investigations involving standards of business conduct and practices in security and public safety. Mr. Lilyhorn received a Comprehensive Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska and is a graduate of a number of law enforcement academies and institutes and has over thirty-five years of extensive practical field experience in anti-terrorism, criminal investigations and law enforcement, and public safety operations with a expertise in risk and threat analysis for high-profile public facilities or high risk event operations. During Mr. Lilyhorn's career he has served on a number of federal protective assignments and investigational task forces or response to such event as the; Utah Winter Olympics Games 2002, Atlanta Pan-American Games 1996, Hells Angels, Banditos, Pagans, and Warlocks Gang Racketeering Trials of the 1980's, Omaha Franklin Credit Union Criminal Trial 1987, Omaha Vice Presidential Debates 1988, Anti-abortion protests that paralyzed Wichita Kansas in 1991, East Texas Columbia Spacecraft Disaster 2003, Hurricane Andrew Disaster 1992, East Los Angeles California Riots of 1992, World Trade Center Terrorist Bombing of 1993, Oklahoma City Federal Building Bombing of 1995, Timothy McVeigh & Terry Nichols Criminal Trials of 1997, the 9/11 National Emergency and the Biological Anthrax Incidents in 2001 and 2002. In 2004, he provided the British Commonwealth Nations Consulates in the United States with an independent anti-terrorism security analysis having had consulates threatened in recent times. His most resent professional involvement was in the 2005 Hurricane Katrina and Rita emergency response operations for Tenet Healthcare Corporation in the emergency rescue and evacuation hospital patients and in armed protective security operations involving five seriously damaged hospitals in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. Mr. Lilyhorn is a Vietnam Era Veteran having served in the United States Air Force - Security Police in Southeast Asia and was involved with security of tactical airlift supply operations thought-out southeast Asia being decorated and honorably discharged in 1974 after being involved in a extremely violent military police action. ster operations recovery to local communities in the 1993 Midwest flood in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska. Damages totaled $15 billion, 50 people died, hundreds of levees failed, and thousands of people were evacuated, some for months. The flood was unusual in the magnitude of the crests, the number of record crests, the huge area impacted, and the length of the time the flood was an issue. Mr. Lilyhorn has testified before the U.S. General Accounting Office Commission in related Homeland Security matters and has contributed to the RAND Corporation, which is a nonprofit institution that helps policy and decision making through research and analysis of trends and issues for government policy makers and has contributed has an advisor to the Texas Homeland Security Alliance development of physical security products. He is also an advisory broad member for Security Intelligence for Total Corporate Alignment, which is sponsored by the University of Texas at Dallas and provides best practices expertise for overall corporate security excellence and with SEE-I-3 Inc. an experiential executive learning and business consulting company. Additionally he's currently involved with the Eastfield Police Academy in the development of new training seminars for law enforcement and professional security officers. He has memberships in the National Disaster Preparedness & Response Network sponsored by the Center of Disease Control and the World Health Organization, North Texas Crime Commission, American Society of Industrial Security, Downtown Dallas Security Director Association, International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety, American College of Forensic Examiners Institute, FBI's InfraGard Network, United States Public and Private Partnership and the City of Dallas Emergency Response Team, and assisted in co-authoring the successful City of Dallas Emergency Response Manual for Downtown Metropolitan Areas comprising plans for protection of over one million people in a urban community environment, and has been used as a model for a large number of city response plans nationwide Mr. Lilyhorn has received numerous awards and honors for his governmental and professional efforts including citations for meritorious police service and commendations for police actions. His most recent awards are for his 9/11/2001 efforts being inducted into the American Police Hall of Fame and was also honored in 2004 with the J. Edgar Hoover Memorial Award for Distinguished Public Service, the Honor Award for Distinguished Achievement in Public Service, National Police Patriotism Award for Patriotism and the American Police Service Award upon his federal law enforcement retirement. In 2005 he was recognized by the City of New Orleans Public Safety Council for his involvement in Hurricane Katrina rescue operations and Hurricane Rita emergency response operations with Tenet Healthcare Corporation. Mr. Lilyhorn is professionally listed in Juris-Pro and Expert-Page directories of expert witnesses and professional experts starting in 2005. In 2006 he was honored by being listed in the prestigious Marquis Who's Who, which is a professional listing for colleges, universities, and public library directories world-wide recognizing successful individuals. He currently lives on a small country acreage north of Fate Texas which is located just east of Metro Dallas Texas in Rockwall County.
