Greg's Story
Life
I have lived in the Kansas City Metro area since 1991 after moving back from Tucson, Arizona in 1985. I became an Architect in 1994 and opened my business, Dream Home Designs the same year. I have two wonderful daughters, Brittanie-18 and Lindsey-14. I enjoy bird hunting, competitive shooting, trout fishing, travel, and music. I like getting together with friends and family, but am mostly a homebody. I'm on my computer every day, so send me an e-mail, I'll respond.
School
Kemper Military School and College was a life changing experience for me. I would truly not be the person I am today if not for Kemper. I was saddened to see the doors close for all those who still have a need for the truth that was dished out there. Even if your experience wasn't the best, it did have a tremendous impact on many of our lives. We had some really great, fun times, even when the going was difficult. I made friends that I still have today and others who are frequently in my thoughts. I saw really messed up kids come there who are now successful adults. I cannot thank the teachers enough who taught not just a subject, but how to think and lear...Expand for more
n. Many of them are gone today, but leave a legacy of successful graduates of life. Today, I still tell stories about the querky, wonderful teachers we had and I've never met any like them since. Nunquam Non Paratus.
College
The college of Home Economics-Housing and Interior Design made me who I am. The teachings that I learned then are still applied in my life today. I have wonderful memories of all-nighters, parties, and cramming sessions. The fundamental things that I learned are directly responsible for my success today. My daughter, Brittanie is attending UMC (not KU thank god) and Lindsey is also planning on being a Tiger! I am proud to have graduated from Mizzou and will be even more proud to watch my kids graduate.
For those of you who were in Home-Ec or HES (as it's now called), my mother was Martha Jo Martin, Assistant Dean of Students in the 70's and 80's. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1991 of complications due to breast cancer. If you were lucky enough to know her, you will understand that I owe my life to her and dedicate this bio to her memory. If you have memories of her, please leave them in my message board.
