Hello There, Hope you are all well, often think of Minn and wonder what people are up to now days. Sue and I moved to Idaho in fall of '88, we live in the remote backcountry of central ID. and love it, beautiful country. We have been caretaking private property since we moved out here, 19yrs at Indian Creek Ranch, very remote, accessible only by hiking or horseback for 3 miles, no electricity for the most part. We moved to Yellow Pine Bar in fall of '07, nice place, right on the bank of the Salmon River, right in central Idaho, if you look on a map. Nearest road is 4 miles (4-WD, open from June to Dec usually. Then hike, horseback or jetboat to the property. Sue is a fantastic gardener, usually puts up about 75% of our vegetables, and likes crafts of all kinds. She is into old rusty metal at the moment. I still do some guiding, but the hills seem to be getting a bit steeper and higher as of late. I am also a part-time knifemaker, forging the blades from old recycled steel, mostly old horse drawn farm equipement. Will try to attach a photo or two. Just getting the hang of computer tech.(not much though) recently so thought I'd try and throw a litte info. on this site. Wishing you all a wonderful day. Life is good on this end. Another HOT/SMOKEY day here, so taking some time to check mail, not much, but did see a note from 'Classmates" Jetboated Sue down river this AM, to where our truck is parked, she is heading to town for the 2nd time since last OCT. = supplies & errands. Good for her to get out to town every now and then. Things are fine here, although afew big wild fires in the vicinty, not real close, but just enough to be concerned about. Hear of draught in the mid-west and hope the farmers and your gardens are surviving in your area. Looking forward to a cooler/damper change of season. Also, hunting & fishing season = :) Sue has been busy with garden harvest, just pulled beans & cucumbers, enough is enough. Doing some beets, tomatoes are coming on along with peppers (she does a killer Salsa), eating some corn now and canning rest, potatoes are ready to dig out. Put up about 2Doz incrdible pesto. cabbages are about ready to convert into saurkraut, etc. I am working on a couple knives and cleaning up some big ole Ponderosa Pines we felled due to cabin safety.
