Life I am looking forward to seeing lots of you at our 60th reunion on May 30th. It's hard to believe that almost six decades have passed since we all graduated in 1966. I have taken this opportunity to update the profile that I wrote before the 40th reunion. Just a quick overview of what has happened to me during the past 49 years. After I graduated from Penncrest I went to Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, where I majored in history. I then went on to graduate school in history at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. From 1972-1974 I served two years in the US Army and then returned to my graduate studies and went to Germany for research on my Ph.D. dissertation in 1975. While there I attended the University of Marburg as part of my fellowship and met a pharmacy student named Gabi (Gabriele), a student in pharmacy. We were married in 1978. I ended up staying almost 5 years in Germany, finishing up my Ph.D., getting a post-doctoral fellowship and also teaching part-time for the University of Maryland's overseas program. In January 1980 we returned to the U.S. when I became an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Nebraska. In 1981 our first child, Christopher (Chris), was born, and in 1985 our daughter Stephanie (Steffi) followed. She didn't get to stay long in the Cornhusker State, however, because in January 1986 I started working for the C.I.A. as a Staff Historian.
