After two months of basic training in Lackland AFB in Texas, I went through 4 months of data communications training at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi. While on leave during the holidays I married Stacey Thomas. My first tour was to Clark AB Republic of the Philippines. I arrived in country July 1988. There I was assigned to the 1961st Comm Group. ian. I joined MCI in Cary, North Carolina May 1996. While there I met some friends from the PI and they recruited me into the North Carolina Air National Guard. I deployed four more times while part of the NCANG; once to Qatar, twice to Afghanistan, and once to Djibouti. MCI sent me to London and Amsterdam for training. I was a member of the NCANG for 20 years before transferring to the Virginia Air National Guard to become a Cyber Operator. The VaANG had me traveling a lot for training before mobilizing me to McGhee Tyson in TN. I decided to submit for voluntary separation from Verizon Business. I retired from the military in Feb 2020. On the civilian side I joined MetLife and was there for almost three years before leaving and joining Lumen where I am at today. I still play organized rec softball and volleyball.
