Gregory's Story
Proud 1972 Hicksville High grad. Also graduate from SUNY COLLEGE at OLD WESTBURY, Sociology major with honors. Served USAF 1974-78 as a patrol dog handler in USAF Security Police (my dog Sabre dragged me all over England for two years). Met the Queen at a Royal Film presentation of Funny Lady. We all have our 15 minutes of fame. Also served Army National Guard and State Guard in response to September 11th.
Mostly remember History teachers Mr. Joe Umbria and Mr. McGinnis. Dr. Ed Hirst, Spanish 1 & 2, was my favorite.I remember moratorium day when all the protestors came to HHS. And the huge snowball students rolled behind Mr. Rusch's office after he made his infamous "no-snowballing" pa announcement. Asst. Principlal Joe Alvani was a good guy too.

in,Pete and Charlie Sabia, Chris Hansen and we beat "The Jocks." Enjoyed playing intramural softball when I was a sophomore with Seniors such as Gary Nuccio,Dave Hervey,Richie and Paul Krabbeler,John Durbach and Bill Wilson.
And I fondly remember Mindy Kaplan chatting with me by our hallway lockers.
Was Asst. Chief of Police and Detective at a Veterans hospital.Along with working at USMMA at Kings Point.
Have been active in veterans' groups such as Hicksville American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America helping my fellow vets and the needy.Honored as Veteran of the Year.
My Mom was the School Crossing Guard at Holy Family School. She has passed as have my Dad and two sisters. R.I.P.
Currently single and residing in Westbury. Still crazy after all these years. Thank you for the good times and great memories.
