I was also privileged to have worked under the direction of a number of keen/committed managers like...Wayne Orchowski, Anthony Ascione and Rudi Hebling...who helped me to further develop my skills and aptitudes, allowing me to successfully surpass the expectations/objectives I was charged with. In my last position as Regional Aftersales Development Manager, I worked with region/national staff......BMW Retail Center management...as well as corporate vendor counterparts in utilizing national programs along with merchandising tools we developed locally...allowed our region to accomplish increased shop labor, shop parts, wholesale parts, accessory, and Lifestyle sales...while improving owner satisfaction/enjoyment. Education: Drake University - Des Moines, IA Accepted into MBA Program...completing about half of the course work when the opportunity to go with Ford Motor Co. came about and. I just never went back to complete it. My brother Richard, (Chariton...Class of 71) had a friend who worked at at Ford Division. He relayed that working two years at Ford compared to completing an MBA program...I think he was correct in his assessment Simpson College - Indianola, IA Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), Business Administration and Management Earned Teaching Certificate for grades 7-12. Simpson did not have a Business Education degree. Indian Hills Community College - Centerville, IA Associate of Arts (A.A.), Business Administration and Management DMACC - Ankeny, IA - GED (Never found time to finish...in the regular fashion) North High School - Des Moines, IA Chariton High School - Chariton, IA Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School - Brecksville, OH - I am also on the Brecksville Alumni website with more detail on my time at that school. I may well hold a record for taking off...about as many days in high school...as I attended. Looking back...while not a record to be proud of...causing a few disappointments and hoping no one else wasted their time to break the absentee record...if there ever was one. Still...I traveled on the road to a number of places, getting what could be called an alternative education. While for the most part I had a good time...I finally came to the realization of the importance of an education and enrolled in college. Interests (in order of significance: My wonderful wife of 40 years (who let me move her back and forth around the Midwest multiple times)...Mary (third time has indeed been the charm...Mary says she got the grown up version). We are very glad that we are both retired.- We are fortunate for our two daughters...Marcy and Megan as well as our four grandchildren...Seth, Addison, Sean and Brennan. Great Grandsons Conlan, Landon, and Hudson. Leisure Activities: Country road touring...with the top down - County Fairs - Car Shows/Swap Meets - Reading - Black & White Movies - Cooking/Baking Numismatics - All things automotive/transportation related memorabilia - Collecting: Transportation (1,500 plus model vehicles on display in 17 cases. - Soft Drink ( 300 plus beverage bottles on display from the early 1900s into 2000s) - Petrobelia - Advertising memorabilia. Enjoyed looking/finding these types of items in our travels and bringing them home for just over 50 years (even though, there was only two of us...movers said we were like moving a family of eight). Our “last” move took two 52’ trailers to get us relocated to Muncie. The last move was on us and we really realized what BMW NA took care of in all of our relocations. Still actively collecting. Have focused on transportation manufacturers anniversary medals. The best one so far is a Studebaker 100th Anniversay 1852-1952 medal. Two other areas I’ve focused on are, Indianapolis 500 Pace/Festival vehicles (the oldest one is a 1941 Chrysler Concept Car) and the other is automotive concept/show cars ( latest being a 1955 Chrysler Falcon Gaia). Still very interested in Product/Point of Sale Merchandising creation. Anything creative...imaginative...artistic, to generate customer interest/need and ultimately purchase. Mary and I have used the skills learned with two automotive companies to do Collectible Merchandising/Sales on Craigslist. Greg's favorite quote is: "Never Complain...Never Explain" (Henry Ford II). This was also a great book!
