More economics, mixed with philosophy Ancient engineering: Strong foundations are required for reliable construction. Don't build on soft ground without a solid foundation (unless you're in Pisa Italy). Countries that US citizens consider to be "inferior" (that is, all of them) tend to use cheap labor (read: *foundation*) to keep production costs low. Profits are very high there when the US exports raw materials and buys them back as finished products. "American Dream" - Everyone can be rich, upper class (read: no foundation) with a little work, hopefully not much at all. People who do no-nothing, repetitive labor should be payed as much as those who invented the technology which allows the work to be done at all. The American Dream is choking America. = Recent thought: Every dollar that leaves this country for any purpose weakens the economy. Government: It is YOUR JOB to *tax* every $1 by about $1.10. Make it cheaper to stay here. Make it cheaper for US citizens to buy US DOMESTIC goods.
