Gregory's Story

More economics, mixed with philosophy Ancient engineering: Strong foundations are required for reliable construction. Don't build on soft ground without a solid foundation (unless you're in Pisa Italy). Countries that US citizens consider to be "inferior" (that is, all of them) tend to use cheap labor (read: *foundation*) to keep production costs low. Profits are very high there when the US exports raw materials and buys them back as finished products. "American Dream" - Everyone can be rich, upper class (read: no foundation) with a little work, hopefully not much at all. People who do no-nothing, repetitive labor should be payed as much as those who invented the technology which allows the work to be done at all. The American Dream is choking America. = Recent thought: Every dollar that leaves this country for any purpose weakens the economy. Government: It is YOUR JOB to *tax* every $1 by about $1.10. Make it cheaper to stay here. Make it cheaper for US citizens to buy US DOMESTIC goods. Get rid of NAFTA and anything like it! = Life Music is important, and music made with a computer can be amazing. I can control every aspect of the sound, so you can tell how I felt on that day. I recently played alto and soprano saxophones for a Flint MI church's production of "...Expand for more
The Wiz" (the movie had Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow). Time to Ease On Down The Road! = I also teach First Aid, CPR and AED (defibrillation for people like you and me) for the American Red Cross. Most of my classes so far have been held in Flint MI's Genesee/Lapeer Chapter Red Cross building, near the I-69 Saginaw Street exit. The latest class was here Flint MI, earlier in Worland, Wyoming. = School In front of Torrey Hill Elementary School one day, Jeff Hargis (out there somewhere, Jeff?) decided to get in a fight with me before recess ended. I saw his fist coming and smiled. He hit my braces and tore his hand up. That was the end of the fight. What would I do now? = College Northern Michigan University's cafeteria taught me two very important rules which I still follow, especially in restaurants: 1) Check *all* plates and silverware for toxic ex-food masses. 2) Eat the fries first. Nothing is worse than cold fries. = Workplace Substitute teacher again, so far in Fenton, Lake Fenton, Linden, Swartz Creek, Flushing and Carman-Ainsworth school districts. = Newest attempt: I'm writing Science Fiction short stories and submitting them to magazines. (Several in NY, one in Australia, one in Canada) No one has *bought* one so far, but I guess it takes a while to "break in."
