Gretchen's Story
Life
I left high school when I was fifteen, ran away to California (stopping to get married in Las Vegas along the way), and had six children. My three sons and three daughters, ages 15 to 29, all live here with me in Sacramento (or at least close enough to come home so frequently that I almost never have time to miss them in between visits!). I divorced my first husband when I was still young, peppy, and reasonably adorable, and really began living, going back to school in the process. When I did that, I met my soulmate. n English professor, is an all-around lover of life. I finished my M.A. in English literature right after the B.A., taught for awhile, did a bunch of volunteer work related to art, drama and literacy, and went back to school in 2006 to get another degree, this time a master's of science in speech pathology. I enjoy reading, writing, and drama; tutoring and teaching; Ashland, OR; NYC; Humboldt County; Mendocino; Half Moon Bay; watching moving water of almost any kind; speech therapy (giving, not receiving); and spending time with friends.
