Guillermo's Story
Hi there, my name is Guillermo Quezada from Los Angeles, CA. I was born in Torrance, CA when my parents lived in San Pedro, CA. When I was about 6 or 7 years old, my mom (England Quezada Aguirre) and I moved to 463 S. Bixel Street. I soon started attending Cortez Elementary School (Betty Plasencia Elementary). My mother was a security guard and would take me to school wearing her uniform and her .38 Special on her belt. All the students at school thought that she she was a cop, so they never messed with me. After elementary, I attended Berendo Jr. High (Now middle school) because I wanted to go to the same school as my best friend at the time (Oscar Sanchez - RIP), who lived in the Pico-Union area. I used his home address (1516 W. 12th Place) in order to attend Berendo. We then moved the Hotel Californian at 1925 W. 6th Street. (Now replaced by Paseo a...Expand for more
t Californian) sometime during the summer of 1984. I remember watching the Olympics on my TV and seeing the UFO hovering over the Coliseum during the opening ceremonies, which I saw from the 4th floor of my building with the naked eye. In 85, I began attending Belmont High School (1085-1990). I have so many great memories... the fashion, the music and the party scene, I lived for the weekend. All my friends were either DJ's or members of dance crews. We would club all over the city and event in Tijuana, Mexico as well. I remember the Disco scene then followed by New Wave and then Acid House scene in the late 80s... just before Techno Music got big.. My Senior years was the most fun I have ever had. After High School, I joined the Navy and then settled in my new hometown of Burbank, CA. where I have lived with my family. Thank you for reading about me.
