Guy Newgren:  

Life I was known as Guy Dean until I changed to my step-father's name in Jr. Hi School. My wife, the former Carolee Adair (who graduated from Camden HS in 1961), and I have been married since 1962. We have three daughters, and one (deceased) son. We also have two foster sons and one foster daughter, each having lived with us for one year. We have nine grandchildren. We took each of them to Disneyland for a few days, when they were about five years old. I worked for the San Jose Fire Department. I retired (in 1999) as a battalion chief. We are now living in a nice, comfortable home in Canby, Oregon. I enjoy landscaping our three acres, although my old back limits my activites somewhat. I returned to school at about age 43 or so. I attended classes at SJSU and majored in Chinese, with a minor in Asian Studies. I have completed about 160 units; yet I lack three Chinese classes for a degree in Chinese.
