Guy P.'s Story

Life During my senior year of high school I joined the Air Force. My First Base was at Lackland AFB (San Antonio, TX) (1982-1983) of course for Basic Training. From Lackland onto Lowry AFB (Denver, CO) (Jan 83 - June 83) for my first Tech School. I trained as an Aircraft Armament Specialist working on the A-10 Warthog. I spent my first three years stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB (Tucson, AZ) (Jun 83 - 86) (355 AGS, 333AMU). I was an Armament Technician during that time. I married TyLene Morgan (1985). I had changed careers while we were together and went together to Keesler AFB (Biloxi, MS) (1986) for my Wideband Communications Tech School. From there Moved to Tinker AFB (Oklahoma City OK) (1986-1989) (3rd Combat Communications Group). There, we had 2 boys, Guy Jr,(1986) Born in Oklahoma, and Bryce (1989) born back in Tucson. While Bryce was being born in Tucson, I was on my way to Hessisch-Oldendorf AB (Germany) (Feb 89 - Sept 92) (609th Tactial Combat Squadron). There we divorced (Sept 11, 1991). When the 609th TCS shut down in 1991, I had orders to Aviano Italy. Those orders were quickly rescinded just 10 days before I was to leave. I spent my last 18 months working the 2134th Det 1 fixed communications site on Bad Muender. They finally closed down the site in 1992 and made it an unmanned site. I was a DJ along with Jeff Fenner at a "Disco" in Pohle, GE where I met Angela, We married after I finally seperated from the AF (E5) in 1992. Angela and I had Samantha (1994). I have 3 beautiful Children that I wouldn't give up for anything. 2 boys, Guy Jr. Bryce both live in Arizona, and my daughter Samantha lives in Rotterdam, NY. Angela and I divorced in 2008. Activities: My summers were filled with trips to Yankee Stadium. Softball was a normal activity until the team we had at GE didn't get back together. I may get back into playing softball sometime soon. Fall was filled with soccer. I was playing on a team, again with a number of GE personnel until I got hurt. That injury sidelined me from soccer, and took me away from...Expand for more
bowling for 6 weeks. I also am an avid bowler. Late July and part of August is for making preparations for the upcoming bowling season, as i am secretary for currently two leagues, and possibly a third. I need to make sure we have a full rosters, which takes up a lot of time working on two to three leagues. In the winter, I currently bowl 2 nights a week and continue to improve my game. I maintain about a 210 - 220 average, multiple 300 and 299 games. Highest series to date is only 811, There is a possibility that I will be adding a third league to my schedule. The third league will be a PBA Experience League that is even more competitive league than the other leagues. I am also a bowling coach. I coach from ages 4 to Adult, and really enjoy it. I have been to the gym a bit lately, and I try to get out on my bicycle. The weather recently has kept me from riding as much as I would like. Bike riding allows me to control my weight and maintain my good health. Employment: I have been with a number of companies since separating from the Air Force in 1992, I have been a Foreman(Electrical) working for TMCI Bus Re-Manufacturing Company, I have worked as a technician for a few RV companies. I was a Desktop Computer Technician for a number of companies. I have been a Server Technician for a few companies. I was a Technical Analyst for a large banking environment and have since transitioned to a Business Recovery Manager for the same bank.. I have worked on everything from point of sale equipment (Cash registers), desktops, laptops, printers and servers of nearly every make and model both pc and mac based over the years. Maintaining a banking environment is a true challenge. Monitoring windows, unix, linux, solaris, AIX, HP UX, servers, ATMs, and Cisco Network hardware and network connectivity is always a challenge. I also worked as the Night Recovery Manager which I have also moved into this position full time. This challenge is always enlightening as restoring major systems without affecting customers is a tremendous challenge as well.
