Guy's Story
Hi Frends and Classmates!!
Here is a breif story of what I hve been doing since we graduated from Franklin High in June 1962. After High School, I attended N. C. State University in Raleigh, NC. I graduated in May 1966 with a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering. In college I played Bass Clarinet and Clarinet in the Concert and Marching Bands.
I was employed in the Electrical Design Department at Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. from July 1966 until June 1980. During this time I worked on the Power Plant and Nuclear Reactor Controls on the USS Chester Nimitz (CVA68), the Dwight Eisenhower (CVA 69), the Carl Vinson(CVA70), the 688 Class Submarine Power Systems, and many other assignments and projects.
Starting in June 1980, I worked at the Union Camp Paper Mill in Franklin, ...Expand for more
VA. During this Time I was a Senior Project Engineer and Assistant Electrical Maintenance Superintendent. I retired from the Mill at Age 62 in April 2006.
I married Brenda Batliner from Norfolk, VA on June 2, 1973. We have four sons (no daughters). Jonathan (age 32), David (age 30), Samuel (age26), and Daniel (age 24). Jonathan and David are married. David has two children (Olivia and Brice).
The days we spent at Franklin High School were good and I have mostly pleasant memories of this time. I would really like to hear from all of you, share our experiences, and catch up on the last "40-Something" years.
If I had known what I know now 40 years ago, I might not still be alive but I would have had a lot more fun.
My cell Phone is 757-647-1823.
Have a great day and a great life,
Guy
