Gwenn's Story

Life My family moved to California after my sophmore year at Columbine. I finished up high school in Brea, CA, then went to college at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. San Luis Obispo is a great little college town on the central coast of California. I majored in Math and minored in Computer Science. But between studying, I also found my love of sailing, waterskiing, and ultimate frisbee... and John. After I graduated, I got a job at Microsoft in Redmond, WA. John and I moved up there and got married. We lived there for 6 years. In addition to working way too hard, we fell in love with wakeboarding, putting 200 hours on our boat the first short Washington summer we had it. Despite all the cool things about the Seattle area, the rainy winters (and fall and spring) finally drove us away. We also wanted to be closer to both our families as we started our own. here we still live today. John is a high school teacher. I discovered that not working is kind of fun... although being home with my 3 young kids doesn't really count as not working. My husband, John, has surfed since college, but I didn't start till we moved back here to the coast. After the birth of my 2nd child, I decided to give it a try, and got hooked. I'm a very different person than that kid in Littleton - but then who hasn't changed in all these years? Some things are the same: I still love animals and the outdoors. We have a pop-up camper trailer that we have taken all over the west coast. I love to read, have a goofy sense of humor, and never quite learned to be cool. I was really into music in jr high - haven't played the flute since but I play the piano some, probably about as well as when I was 12. I'd love to hear from some of the people I grew up with.
